Glad vår! Happy Spring! We had a great turnout for the Peasoup and Pancake dinner last month. While there was no planned cultural program, we did learn some fun Swedish songs for the Punsch. Victoria Bosavage, age 7, taught us facts about Sweden, as she presented her school project with great enthusiasm. We also had door prizes, and some lucky guests left with some nice Swedish gifts. Thank you to all the volunteers for making this a successful event! | Next time we meet will be for Walpurgis. (Click here for more information and to register) When I grew up in Sweden, our village would collect brush and garden trash for weeks in a community pile on a field. We then gathered on April 30 for the traditional Valborg bonfire. There was food and drink, and lots of stories about the old times. If you are out traveling in the evening of April 30 in Sweden, you will see many bonfires in the distance as each town have their own. | In May we will visit IKEA. It will be a private tour behind the scenes. We will of course have lunch together and then do some shopping. I’m looking forward to this tour. If you are interested in attending either event, but don’t have transportation, please reach out to info.drott.lodge@gmail.com and we will try to help you get there.
